Thermal activation of peat sorption properties and humic acids in respect to oil and organic solvents

The article presents the complex study of sorption properties of thermally modified peat sorbents and humic acids in respect to different groups of organic substances (oil and organic solvents). The values of peat sorbent capacity in respect to oil of different densities, as well as water-retaining capacity and water pollution intensity after elimination of sorbent with solute from water surface, have been determined. The retention time and volume of retained organic solvents have been defined using humic acids of modified peat as sorption material. The alteration of retention time in respect to physical-chemical characteristics of sorbents has been studied.
