Выдержка

Insufficient knowledge and unpreparedness of faculty for systematic use of international standards of engineering education in curriculum design leads to gaps in study processes and consequently to prescriptions from professional organizations accrediting such programmes. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) develops its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes based on analysis of world trends in engineering education and with involvement of international partners such as ENAEE, IGIP, SEFI, ABET, etc. The paper presents TPU CPD programmes aimed at faculty development in three main areas: design, realization and evaluation of engineering programmes in accordance with world standards for quality of engineering education (such as Washington Accord Graduate Attributes, EUR-ACE Framework Standards for engineering education, etc.) and innovative educational trends (project organized, problem based, student-centred learning). Based on the experience of developing and piloting these programs the Model of faculty training for engineering curriculum design was elaborated.
