Аннотация

This paper presents a solid-phase spectrophotometric method for the determination of copper(II) with neocuproine immobilized in a transparent polymethacrylate matrix. The proposed method is based on the reduction of Cu(II) to Cu(I) in a sample solution and the formation of the colored complex of Cu(I) with neocuproine in polymethacrylate matrix with the absorption maximum at 450 nm. The optimal determination conditions of Cu(II) with neocuproine immobilized in polymethacrylate matrix, and interference from the foreign ions were studied. The copper determination was carried out by measuring the absorbance at 450 nm of polymethacrylate matrix with immobilized neocuproine after its contact with the sample solution for 15 mins at pH 4-7. The analytical performance characteristics of the developed method were estimated. Under these experimental conditions the range of determined concentrations are 0.05-0.30 mg/L with 3s limit of detection of 0.018 mg/L. The proposed method was used to perform drinking water analysis for the Cu(II) contents by solid-phase spectrophotometry method without pre-sample preparation, and the applicability of polymethacrylate matrix with immobilized neocuproine as the final analytical form for rapid visual Cu(II) test was shown.
