Аннотация

High-purity polycrystalline lead has been used to examine grain-boundary slip (GBS), boundary migration, and the relationship to other strain mechanisms on stretching in the range 0.1-0.9Tmp. There are two stages in the temperature dependence of the grain-boundary slip, with the junction around 0.5Tmp. The low-temperature one reflects the accommodation function, which is accompanied: by slip within the grains, while the high-temperature one corresponds to slip as an independent process accompanied by rotational accommodation processes of fragmentation type. The temperature dependence for the boundary migration has a maximum at high temperatures. There is no direct relation between GBS and boundary migration. The measurements agree well with the theory of structural strain levels.
