Based on the results presented we assume that an optimal thickness of Ca-P coatings deposited by rf-magnetron sputtering that promotes better adhesion strength of Ca-P coating to a substrate is maximal 1.6 μm. It is also well known that the coating structure determines the coating performance, i.e. dissolution rate, bone apposition and some others [2]. Therefore, there is a possibility to vary the biological performance of such a coating by changing the deposition parameters.
