Аннотация

It has been suggested that the major features of the size effect observed in the laser initiation for pressed lead azide under conditions of uniform illumination in a circular spot are determined by the diffuse character of the light scattering by the explosive. Here the results from those studies are extended to nonuniform illumination in a spot of arbitrary shape.
