Аннотация

The results of an analysis and evaluation of the heat fluxes entering the erosion trace zone during the breakdown of solid bodies are presented. On the basis of these results it suggested that the main factor causing erosion of the electrodes during the breakdown of solid bodies is the heat flux from the plasma streams issuing from the mouths of the discharge channel. The quantity of thermal energy from a plasma stream to the electrode surface can be one or two orders greater than the quantity of thermal energy coming from all other factors taken together.
