Physiological basics of development of coordination and balance in students with musculoskeletal disorders

Platypodia is a change in biomechanics, foot form, characterized by fallen longitudinal and transverse arches, along with loss of tenosynovitis features. Foot arches can be longitudinal and transverse, facilitating balancing and absorbing foot functions. The purpose of the present research was to determine physiological features of development of coordination and balance in students with platypodia and scoliosis training in groups of remedial gymnastics. Conclusion. The received results prove that students with musculoskeletal pathology have expressed disorders of the function of balancing and coordinating abilities, reflected in parameters of stabilogram. Herewith combined pathology (platypodia plus scoliosis) results in more expressed disorders compared to platypodia. Remedial gymnastics is an effective form of correction of motor disorders in students with musculoskeletal disorders. After a year of classes of remedial gymnastics the researchers observed substantial improvement of stabilographic indices by the specially developed program, testifying to rebalancing and gaining coordinating abilities. Herewith in the risk group of students with combined pathology the achieved effect was authentically higher compared to the group with platypodia. Additional compensatory mechanisms promoting improvement of the balance function and motor activity as a whole seem to be introduced to the process of rehabilitation and adaptation to physical loads.
