Performance evaluation of MRC systems in the presence of Nakagami-m fading and shadowing

The performance of the MRC receiver in the presence of composite fading that consists of multipath Nakagami-m fading and shadowing is considered in this paper. The shadowing is modeled by log-normal distribution for composite Nagami-m-lognormal, gamma distribution for generalized-K and inverse-Gaussian distribution for G distribution. The probability density function, the outage probability and the amount of fading are derived. Various numerical results are graphically presented for dual branch receivers to illustrate the obtained mathematical analysis and to show the infuence of system parameters to the system performance.
