Аннотация

A kinetic mechanism of heterogeneous chemical reaction of hydrogen atom recombination on a Teflon surface involving interaction of vibrationally excited reaction products with adsorbed atoms and molecules is discussed. Energy transfer from the reaction products H2 VL to atoms and molecules in the adsorption layer is shown to give rise to a self-sustained oscillatory reaction mode, to instability and non-unique solution points, and to explosion-like processes in which almost all the adsorbed atoms react on the surface within about 10-7 s.
