Аннотация

The composite of WC-110G13L steel, irradiated by low-energy high-current electron beam, is investigated. The results of optical metallography, X-ray diffraction analysis and transmission diffraction microscopy show that the pulsed irradiation leads to forming a quasi-periodical mesostructure in total volume of composite. Nano- and submicron structures are formed as a result of strain and polymorphous transformations in hardening phase and matrix. The pulsed irradiation enables to obtain the high and controllable values of hardness, strength and plasticity.
