Аннотация

Mechanical and tribotechnical properties of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) based composites filled with carbon fibers of various dimensions (nanometer - CNF, micrometer - SCF, millimeter - LCF) have been studied. It has been found that compositions loaded with 40 wt. % of carbon fibers of micron (200 μm) and millimeter (2 mm) sizes possess the best strength properties. The highest level of wear resistance was demonstrated by the composite "PPS + 40 wt. % SCF (70 μm)". Composite based on three-component mixture "PPS + 25 wt. % SCF (70 μm) + 10 wt. % LCF (2 mm)" ensures increasing of wear resistance by 3.7 times at reduction of the coefficient of friction by a factor of 1.5. The reasons of the revealed regularities are discussed in terms of their further practical applications.
