In using standard statistical criteria we compare the distributions of probabilities of the ratio of the number of cloud and surface discharges r, the logarithm of the current amplitude of lightning lgI//l, the average number of components in a lightning discharge during a storm n, and the logarithm of the time interval between components lgt for frontal and air-mass storms. A significant difference is discovered between the distributions of r, n, and lgt with a confidence probability of 0. 95. The results obtained are evidently due to features of the spatial electrical structure of clouds in frontal and air-mass storms. The difference between the distributions of lgI//l with a probability of error of 0. 05 is random.
