The theoretical and experimental approach to designing specialized industrial IR systems is described. The chronology of module IR systems developed in Tomsk Polytechnic University for inspecting cement kilns is presented. The ultimate versions of these systems are used in automated industrial systems allowing on-line influencing technological processes.
