Аннотация
A microsecond voltage-pulse generator is described for research in the generation of high-power electron and ion beams in diode systems that are connected in parallel with a network with an inductive storage device and a plasma-erosion breaker. The total energy capacity of the generator is 250 kJ for a charging potential of 80 kV. The generator has a self-inductance of ≈0.7 μH, a characteristic impedance of ≈1.14 Ω, an oscillation period of ≈3.83 μsec, and a damping constant of μ105 sec-1. Results are provided for the first experiments in the generation of a high-current relativistic electron beam of microsecond duration in a magnetically isolated coaxial diode.
