Аннотация
This article reports a study of the transition of a volume discharge into a channel discharge carried out by the method of interrupted discharges along with spectroscopic mmeasurements. The discharge is excited in industrial-grade nitrogen at a pressure of 50-100 torr. The copper electrodes, 4 cm in diameter, have the Rogowski profile (the electrode separation is d equals 0. 8-1 cm). A voltage is applied to this gap from a generator through cables with a characteristic impedance of 75 OMEGA . This generator was able to produce single pulses with a height of 10-25 kV and a length of 30-60 nsec in an unmatched load.
