Elemental composition and distribution in the micro-arc calcium phosphate coatings

Аннотация

The study of the elemental composition and distribution of the calcium phosphate (CaP) coatings deposited by the micro-arc oxidation (MAO) method under varied applied voltage (200-300 V) was performed. It was found that quantitative content and distribution of the Ca, P, O, and Ti elements over the coating surface significantly depends on the value of the applied voltage. With increasing the applied voltage the Ca content increased from 4.5 to 7.7 at %. On the contrary, the P and Ti amounts decrease from 14.9 to 14.0 at % and from 10.9 to 9.7 at %, respectively. The O concentration remains equal to 68.6-69.7 at %. It leads to an increase in Ca/P ratio on the coating surface from 0.3 to 0.6.
