Electrical conduction and optical absorption of polycrystalline corundum after titanium ions irradiation and heat treatment were investigated. Properties modification was called by defects formation and chemical interaction of implanted ions with lattice atoms and vacancy defects. Contributions into properties changes from impurity - vacancy complexes and from defect replacement clusters having continuous spectrum levels and local levels were distinguished. The thermal stability of complexes differing the energetic spectrum and charge state was determined. The probably nature of defects replacement complexes was established.
