Аннотация

The authors have experimentally investigated the effect of increased turbulence of the external flow on the efficiency of the gas screen in axisymmetric supersonic nozzles. It is shown that, when turbulence of the arriving flow increases both in the subsonic, and supersonic parts of the Laval nozzle, efficiency drastically reduces. For instance, turbulization of the flow, with 15% turbulence degree, worsens protective properties of the screen 2-3 times. Using the asymptotic theory of gas screens, empirical data were generalized.
