The main features of long-range action in metals and alloys during ion implantation are considered by the example of copper. Dislocation structures, formed in copper under high-dose ion implantation, are investigated by the method of electron microscopy. A magnitude of long-range action effect is caused by microstructure of target starting state and structure-phase state formed in surface layer being alloyed. A mathematical model of defective structure forming in sublayer under alloyed surface of irradiated target is suggested.
