Distribution of platinum-metals in ophiolite-belt black-shale series

Аннотация

A new method of inversion voltametry has been used to determine the noble metals in black shales from ophiolite belts in northeast Kazakhstan, the Kuznetsk Alatau, East Sayan, and northeast Tuva, from which estimates have been made of the platinum levels in carbonaceous shales, gabbroids, ultramafics, plagiogranites, and their metasomatized varieties. The coefficients of accumulation of platinum, osmium, iridium, and palladium in sulfidized propylites, listvenite-beresites, and albitites reach 300-12 700 or more. Combined gold-platinoid mineralization is associated with the metasomatism produced by deep-seated fluids and the emplacement of gabbro-plagiogranite intrusions. -from Journal summary
