Development of the noncontact approach to testing the dynamic characteristics of carbon fiber reinforced polymer composites

Аннотация

Based on the method of laser Doppler vibrometry, an approach has been developed for the noncontact testing of the dynamic characteristics of carbon fiber reinforced polymer composites (CFRP). The approach makes it possible to reconstruct vibration effects, analogous to the real ones, of the materials under study in order to obtain reliable measurement results. The achievement of test conditions close to operational ones is provided by choosing the excitation source parameters and methods used for securing the objects of research. Conducting a modal analysis on the basis of this approach makes it possible to determine the frequency intervals of the operational vibration effects, excluding the occurrence of resonant phenomena in composite materials. It is shown that the proposed approach also allows one to perform nondestructive quality control of CFRP materials based on an analysis of the fields of their vibration velocities and vibro-displacement.
