Desorption of isotope-substituted molecules from the teflon surface under the action of atomic-molecular hydrogen beams

Аннотация

The mechanism of accommodation of the energy liberated in a heterogeneous chemical reaction involving vibrational-vibrational (V-V) exchange between molecules of a product of a reaction and molecules of an adsorption layer is studied. The recombination of hydrogen atoms on a Teflon surface preliminarily filled with D2O, HDO, and H2O molecules results in a nonequilibrium desorption of water molecules due to energy transfer from the vibrationally excited Hv 2-L molecules formed to adsorbed water molecules. The rates of the heterogeneous recombination of hydrogen atoms and of the nonequilibrium desorption of adsorbate molecules periodically change with the duration of treatment of the surface by the H + H2 beam. A kinetic mechanism of V-V relaxation of Hv 2 on the Teflon surface covered with an adsorption layer is discussed.
