Аннотация

Three-dimensional transient free convection in a porous enclosure having finite thickness heat-conducting walls and a heat source of constant temperature located at the bottom of the enclosure in conditions of convective heat exchange with an environment has been studied numerically. The transient threedimensional equations for the porous medium, in terms of the vector potential functions, vorticity vector and temperature within the Darcy, Brinkman-extended Darcy and Forchheimer-Brinkman-extended Darcy approaches and the transient three-dimensional heat conduction equation based on the Fourier hypothesis for the solid walls with corresponding initial and boundary conditions have been solved using an iterative implicit finite-difference method. Particular efforts have been focused on the effects of the Darcy number and thermal conductivity ratio on the flow regimes and heat transfer in comparison with different porous medium models.
