The brain perfusion in patients with arterial hypertension and interrelation between parameters of blood pressure monitoring and results of brain perfusion applying single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) are studied. Fifteen patients with moderate essential hypertension were investigated by brain SPECT and blood pressure monitoring before and after treatment course of angiotensine-converting enzyme inhibitor (iACE). Hypoperfused regions were revealed in all patients, even in those who had not focal neurological symptoms. The most frequent cerebral blood decrease was noted in parietal and temporal brain regions. The inverse correlation between change in hypoperfused sectors quantity in response to adenosine probe and diurnal index of systolic arterial pressure was revealed. ACE inhibitor treatment led to the decrease in quantity of hypoperfused sectors in rest, as well as in the peak of adenosine probe, the decrease in average diurnal values of systolic and diastolic arterial pressure.
