X-ray diffractional focusing by the temperature gradient in the laue geometry

Abstract

The paper describes the spherical X-ray diffractional focusing discovered outside the crystal affected by a temperature gradient. The focus distance is shown to decrease with the growth of the temperature gradient if the latter is anti-parallel to the diffraction vector. In the opposite case defocusing takes place.
