Abstract
An optico-TV measuring system was used to study the relationships involved in the plastic deformation that takes place at the meso- and microscopic levels when Fe + 3 at. % Si alloy polycrystals are strained in tension. The features and symptoms of the vortex plastic flow of polycrystals are described. The findings presented confirm the basic conclusion of the theory of the vortex mechanical field: It is the rotational mode of deformation that causes the fracture of the material.
