Abstract

Variations in the electronic state of silver catalysts for methanol oxidation under the effect of the reaction medium have been studied, using diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The nature of active centers-Ag+ cations, Agn δ+ complexes and clusters of various sizes for bulk and supported catalysts are shown to be identical.
