Using of unconventional raw materials with allowance for their redox properties

Abstract

The possibility of using unconventional raw materials instead of sand and soda in bottle glass manufacture with allowance of their redox characteristics was investigated. It is established that color and quality of the resulting glass can be predicted by combined using of process parameters, such as chemical oxygen demand of the glass mixture and its redox potential.
