Abstract
The possibilities of using nonconditional raw materials in the form of granulated concentrates in glass manufacture were studied. It is established that the introduction of granulated raw concentrates into a glass batch results in enhanced chemical activity of batches at the stage of silicate- and glass formation. It is shown that this effect is due to finely disperse and defect structure of the raw materials, to a close contact of high-melting components with soda, and to improved uniformity of the batch.
