Use of natural zeolites for ceramic tile production

Abstract

A possibility to produce ceramic tile on the base of natural zeolite and calcium-magnesia minerals (diopside, wollastonite, tremolite) has been demonstrated. Mineralogical composition of zeolites has been determined using X ray phase analysis and thermal analysis. The composition and zeolite content in ceramic masses for tile production have been determined from the point of view of lowering shrinkage due to porous structure of zeolites.
