Use of diopside in high-alumina ceramics manufacturing

Abstract

Calculation and experimental data on technological parameters for manufacture of high-alumina ceramics with corundum crystalline phase are presented. Diopside of Slyudyansk deposit was added to initial batch as a minerallizer. This addition allowed to decrease fret melting temperature by 200-300° C and sintering temperature by 100-150° C, mechanical strength of ceramic products being enhanced.
