Abstract

A concept of feedback vircator with e-beam premodulation was developed and tested. In experiment, ∼1 GW, 20 - 30 ns microwave pulses were produced in L- and S-bands at 5 - 6 % efficiency. The microwave generation was narrow-band with the frequency stable during the pulse. Frequency control within 10 - 20 % was demonstrated.
