Three-dimensional maps of wear of zirconia partially-stabilized by yttria (Y-TZP) have been plotted indicating three typical ranges of velocities with relevant wear rates: normal friction range (0.2-0.9 m/s and pressure up to 5 MPa), disastrous wear range (0.9-4.7 m/s and pressure above 5 MPa) and mild wear range at higher sliding velocities.
