Abstract
The transport of a high-current relativistic electron beam is studied in several situations: in a gas, along localized gas-filled and plasma-filled channels, and along metal conductors in a constant transverse magnetic field. The electron energy is 1 MeV, the beam current is 35 kA, and the current pulse length is 60 nsec. The efficiency of the beam transport across the magnetic field is reported as a function of the magnetic field intensity, the pressure, and the geometric dimensions.
