Abstract
An analysis of the operating experience of 137 power transmission 10 kV lines is given. It is shown that specific numbers of disconnections, duration of power supply interruptions, and shortfalls in the supply of power to the consumers are considerably higher than they are for foreign lines of the same class, as well as for 10 kV lines of a number of power systems in the USSR. This may be the result of specific climatic conditions of the steppe regions in question, as well as of a more complete count of the number of disconnections. A method of collecting and processing of the data on thunderstorm disconnections are presented.
