Thread connection simulation and experimental analysis of strain wave energy loss

Abstract

The paper presents the dynamic model of a thread connection behavior in a drilling pipe at a strain wave propagating through it. Moreover, experimental results on determination of stiffness properties of coupling connections of drilling pipes and their comparison with real connection parameters are presented herein.
