The methods of numerical simulation is used to examine the dynamics of distribution and reflection, from the rear surface of a metallic sheet, of a sound pulse of stress generated by a pulsed proton beam. The amplitude-time parameters of thermal shock loading the metal at the irradiated surface and in movement of the pulse through the volume of the particle are determined. The results show that in reflection of the pulse from the rear surface the amplitude of the mechanical stress increases.
