Abstract
The excitation of electromagnetic oscillations in reflex triodes and in systems with a drift space under the conditions when a virtual cathode is formed is studied by the kinetic equation method. The mechanisms of radiation in the one- and two-frequency modes are analyzed, and the analytical dependences of the increments and power of the radiation on the parameters of the beam and the resonators are obtained. The theoretical and experimental results are compared.
