The nature of cavitation as applied to manufacturing of welding electrodes

Abstract

This article deals with the cavitation phenomenon. It describes nature of cavitation, its positive and negative effects on various units, components and machine parts, as well as its influence on human. Author describes how the cavitation phenomenon allows us to improve the mechanical properties of the weld metal as well as the quality of welding electrodes for manual arc welding. The conditions of cavitation occurrence are considered and the mathematical formulas to measure the cavitation are presented.
