Abstract
The peculiarities of the distributions of grain and pore sizes in the zirconia ceramics sintered in vacuum after dry compacting nanopowders under powerful ultrasound action (PUA) were investigated using optical microscopy and SEM techniques. The PUA during zirconia nanopowder compaction essential influences not only the green body densification, but also the sintered ceramics microstructure and properties. Analysis of the XRD data showed the linear dependence of the lattice parameters of zirconia monoclinic and cubic phases which can be explained by a coexistence of two phases in a nanocrystallite.
