The increase of analytic gyrocompass system precision constructed on dynamically turned gyro

Abstract

The analytic gyrocompass system (AGS) consists of three or two single-axis accelerometers, two components rate gyro based on dynamically turned gyro (DTG) and computer. This type of AGS is the base of gyro inclinometer. Inclinometer exploitation showed reducing of the precision of determination of orientation parameters during time. The main reasons are mechanical actions on hole probe. The blows create the appearance of residual deformation of DTG joint flexure assembly. The authors ascertained the dependence of rate gyro error from device orientation relatively to gravity vector. The error model of rate gyro was received. Eight constants, that are members of the expression for calculation of corrected angular rates values are defined during conducting of the recurrent metrological calibration test. It is necessary to know the values of angular rate measured by device in its eight different attitude relatively geographic oriented coordinate system. For realization of offered method it is necessary to have two axis test stand. The expressions for calculation of corrected angular rates, the formulas for determination constants of this expressions and the requirements of the stand are given. Experimental tests of this method have shown that error of definition orientation in azimuth AGS, based on DTG like GVK-6, that have been used earlier in hole device inclinometer composition have reduced more than one order (from 3-4 degree to 0.1-0.2).
