Abstract
The errors in determining the thermal characteristics of materials by the laser flash method, which depend on the thickness of the sample and the duration of the heating pulse, are estimated. The estimates are obtained by comparing the results of the numerical solution of the one-dimensional heat-conduction problem in samples of materials when a short pulse acts on their surface under conditions corresponding to the experiment, and the true values of these characteristics.
