### Abstract

The features of electromagnetic transients arising when a multi-disk synchronous generator operates on a resistive load through a half-wave rectifier are investigated using mathematical modeling techniques. A possibility of using the magnetization effect is shown for the arrangements where power is supplied to autonomous loads. The intensity of magnetizing the generator as a function of the parameters of the load is considered. Recommendations for selecting the preferable operating conditions of the generator for different loads are given.
