The effect of ion irradiation on K-208 glass surface electric conductivity

Abstract

It was investigated the influence of ion bombardment on the surface electric conductivity of glasses K-208. It was found that irradiation of the samples by O+, Ar+, N+ ions did not change its electrical conductivity. However, an essential (by a factor 106) increasing in the value of the surface conductivity after irradiation of glasses by Si+, C+, Sn+ ions was established. For all that the optical density was increased on 15-20%.
