Abstract

The linearized method of muffin-tin orbitals is used to calculate the isothermal equation of state for the B2 phase of titanium nickelide. The pressure dependence of the volume change is constructed from experimental data in the pressure range up to 8 GPa for the alloy Ti50Ni48Fe2. Good agreement is obtained between the experimental and theoretical results.
