Abstract
The basic parameters (height, radius, and curvature) of the atomic nuclei fusion barrier are compared for the cases where the proton and neutron density distributions are identical and where they are different. As the difference exceeds 11%, it must be taken into consideration, especially for neutron-deficient and neutron-rich nuclides.
