Abstract

The results of computation and experimental studies of compression sonic wave generation in thick steel targets with proton-carbon ion beam in the current density range up to 1.6 kA×cm-2 are presented. The regularities of the sonic wave formation in targets and the influence of phase formation on the amplitude-time parameters of the acoustic pulse are discussed.
