Abstract
The influence of motor vehicle exhausts on the environment and human health is briefly reviewed with special emphasis on carbon (mon)oxide, nitrogen oxides, ozone, sulphur dioxide, lead, volatile organic substances, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
