Abstract
Purpose: to assess 199Tl-chloride scintigraphy abilities for the diagnostics of inflammation focuses of various localizations. Material and methods: 199Tl-chloride scintigraphy was performed in 42 patients of purulent inflammatory diseases of the locomotor system, abdominal cavity, and lungs and pelvic inflammatory diseases. Results: Local uptake of the 199Tl-chloride is the scintigraphy sign of inflammation. Rate of 199Tl-chloride uptake depends upon the type, phase and localization of the inflammation. Conclusion: Effectiveness of the 199Tl-chloride scintigraphy for the diagnostics of the extremity inflammation, pelvic inflammatory diseases and local inflammation of abdominal cavity was the largest. So, when examining of the extremities, the sensitivity of the 199Tl-chloride scintigraphy has amounted 87.5 %, accuracy - 88.8 % and specificity - 100 %. When investigating abdominal cavity and pelvis, the sensitivity of the method has been 95.2 %, the accuracy and specificity - 95.4 % and 100 %, respectively.
